Post-traumatic Right Ankle Injuries with Surgical Repairs - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit begins with an illustration depicting a comminuted fracture of the talus and following that it shows the healed fracture of the talus with developing inflammation and scar tissue of the ankle joint and thickening of the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL). Arthroscopic surgical repair is performed to remove scar tissue and a portion of the synovium anteriorly. Lastly, an illustration of the medial side of the ankle is shown with pathology to indicate the possibility of future need of arthrodesis of either tibiotalar joint or the talocalcaneal joint.
