This exhibit features side cut-awayviews of the buttock/gluteal region illustrating the progression of a gluteal abscess following celestone injection. In this exhibit, these images illustrate the basic procedure for surgical drainage, aspiration of a gluteal abscess. The first three images on the top illustrate a simple drainage with wick placement. The second set of images on the bottom illustrate an needle aspiration without wick placement.
